Aunt Gerri Rocks!

Way to go Aunt G!!  We totally love the Kilkenny Chronicle and appreciate your work.  Off to bed--

Your favorite goddaughter!!!

Grandma's learning how to post!

Looking for suggestions for selecting the grill which grandma and poppop promised to purchase for Kilkenny.
Any votes for this one?

Another Kilkenny Recipe?

I made a delicious dinner last night that could be a nice addition to the Kilkenny Cookbook.

My key to cooking these days ("the days of negative income") has been to try to use things from the "Kilkenny Grab Bag" that Grandma and Popop deposited at our house back in November.
This "Grab Bag" (er... bags) contain all the non-antique food items from Kilkenny that Popop cleaned out of the house, bagged up, and 'gave' to me.
Thanks Dad.

Included in this cornucopia are celebrated items like Fish Fry, Pokemon Mac & Cheese, 'Fluff', 3 cans of mandarin oranges, 'Real Cream of Coconut', pear preserves, opened boxes of crackers, blueberry muffin mix, and the ubiquitous... jars of peanut butter.

In this recipe, I passed over the obvious choice (peanut butter) and went with the Pokemon Mac & Cheese (compliments of Bickels I'm sure) as its expiration date is looming.
Here's the recipe for...

PUCCINI & POKEMON PASTA:
-first, to create a sophisticated atmosphere and make Pokemon Pasta seem a bit more remarkable, tune your iPod to Puccini and play it loudly.
-next, open the chianti and pour a glass.
-boil 6 cups of water and cook the little Pokemon guys until tender (12-14 minutes).
-in a separate pan, saute fresh cut asparagus, sun-dried tomatoes, and chicken/turkey sausage sliced in half moons with a bit of olive oil, S&P, and garlic. Set aside.
-drain Pokemon guys, appreciate their intricate shapes, and return to pot.
-mix with milk, neon-orange powdery stuff, butter, and some fresh grated parmesan (bonus points: also from the "Kilkenny Grab Bag").
-contemplate adding peanut butter, but refrain from doing so.
-mix Pokemon guys and the asparagus, sun-dried tomato, sausage combo together and top with fresh parsley.

-eat "Fluff" for desert.
Enjoy!

(sorry the picture is out of focus - I used my phone in dim light - but maybe you can still pick out a 'Pikachu')
